The Bulldogs have secured the valuable two premiership points but once again gave fans heartattacks as a 12 point 2nd half lead dwindled with the Storm powering home strong. With 5 minutes remaining Storm halfback Matt Orford just pushed a sideline conversion wide which would have levelled up the scores and seen possibly the Bulldogs 4th draw of the season.
The Doggies held on though and prevented - at least for one week - a slow slide that had seen them drop slowly down a position at a time every couple of weeks. The win keeps them in 4th place and drops the Storm out of the top eight. The Storm had been in devastating form in recent weeks and the win cannot be underestimated. The Bulldogs made plenty of mistakes but they re-visited the style of football that saw them take the competition lead early in the season.
The combination of El Masri and Vagana was devastating as they scored all the points: Vagana 3 tries and El Masri 2 tries plus 4/5 goals.
