Nigel Vagana played 71 games for Auckland between 1996 and 2000 as a centre.
In 1997, Nigel spent one season with Warrington. He played for New Zeland in 1998. Nigel has played 35 Tests for New Zealand and played in the 2000 World Cup.
In 2001, Nigel joined the Bulldogs to become a regular centre in the NRL for three seasons. He played in the 2001 Semi-Final against Cronulla.
In 2002, Nigel broke Chris Anderson's 1983 record for the most tries in the season and was the NRL's leading try scorer with 23 four-pointers for the season. Nigel scored five tries in a game against South Sydney which equals Edgar Newham's record in 1942.
In 2003, Nigel played in the Preliminary Final against the Roosters before joining Cronulla in 2004 to play 61 games from 2004 to 2006.
In 2004, Nigel was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
