The Bulldogs scraped home with the two points but it was dicey for a long while as the Cowboys piled on the pressure in the 2nd half.

The Bulldogs raced to a 16-2 first half lead but like recent weeks, the Bulldogs struggled to defend a lead and a crucial moment just before halftime swayed the fortunes of the match.

With 90 seconds remaining in the first half the Bulldogs coughed up the ball on attack. The cowboys then scored after the siren and were back in the match at 16-8 down.

It was 16-14 early in the 2nd half and once again the Bulldogs had squandered a lead and let their opposition back.

There was a wave of cowboys pressure in the 2nd half but through tight defence and the Cowboys own error rate, they couldn't get any closer.

Nigel Vagana was sin binned in the 67th minute and the Cowboys had several attacking chances, but it was an inspired piece of play by Darrell Trindall in the 72nd minute when he darted over to score to seal the victory for the Bulldogs.
