The New Zealand Warriors have scored a dramatic last second 30-24 win over Canterbury Bulldogs in a thriller at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.

With the scores locked at 24-all in the final minute, the Warriors spun the ball wide and back-rower Lewis Brown put in a kick ahead.

Bulldogs fullback Luke Patten fumbled the ball, Brown regathered and passed it to halfback Lance Hohaia, who scored in the final play of the game.

The loss was the Bulldogs' fourth from five games and leaves the club with plenty of problems going into next Friday night's clash with Wests Tigers.

The Warriors, in contrast, have now won three of their five games including two in Australia, where they have struggled in recent seasons.

The only concern for the Warriors is that star winger Manu Vatuvei suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury.

Brett Kimmorley should have opened the scoring for the Bulldogs in the fourth minute when he charged over the line but was unable to ground the ball in a superb tackle by Warriors prop Sam Rapira.

But Kimmorley made amends moments later, dummying his way past his opposite number James Maloney for the opening try.

Winger Bryson Goodwin converted to get the Bulldogs off to a flying start at 6-0.

Maloney made amends for his early error in the 16th minute, putting in a neat grubber kick for centre Brent Tate to score his first try of the year for the Warriors.

Maloney added the extra to lock up the scores at 6-all before big Vatuvei finished a backline move in the corner to edge the Warriors ahead 12-6.

But the Bulldogs drew level on the stroke of halftime through their super sub' Ben Barba.

The livewire Barba bobbed, weaved and darted past two defenders from 10 metres out, with Goodwin's conversion again levelling scores.

The Warriors began the second half in a menacing mood, coming up with two quick-fire tries.

Maloney waltzed through some dreadful defence to create the first, sending lock Jacob Lillyman over.

Then Barba failed to clean up a kick through and Warriors winger Kevin Locke pounced on the loose ball for the simplest of tries.

The Bulldogs lifted themselves off the canvas, with fullback Luke Patten diving on a Michael Ennis grubber kick to give them hope at 24-18.

Then giant centre Jamal Idris barged over from close range and Goodwin's conversion again saw the scores level at 24-all, setting the scene for the dramatic finish.
