David Stagg made his first grade debut for the Brisbane Broncos on July 11, 2003 in the round 18 clash against the Bulldogs at Suncorp Stadium.
Season 2004 brought just four first grade appearances for David before making a mark in his 18 matches in 2005.
Season 2006 saw him win a premiership with the Broncos, playing centre in the season decider against Melbourne.
In an impressive season for David, he came away with a premiership ring, a QLD State of Origin jersey and 22 first grade appearances under his belt.
David played a further 29 matches for the Broncos over the 2007-08 seasons and despite his Brisbane contract not ending until the completion of the 2009 season, David joined team mates Michael Ennis and Ben Hannant at the Bulldogs after he was granted a release.
In his first season at Canterbury in 2009, he played 24 games as
the club finished second on the table during the regular season. He played
for Canterbury in their preliminary final defeat against arch rivals Parramatta
at Telstra Stadium.
In 2010, he extended his contract with Canterbury-Bankstown until the end of 2012.
In the 2012 NRL season, David played 27 games as Canterbury won the Minor Premiership and reached the 2012 NRL Grand Final. David played in Canterbury's 14-4 loss against Melbourne at ANZ Stadium.
David rejoined the Brisbane Broncos in 2013 on a two year deal.
