The son of Steve "Slippery" Morris and twin brother of Brett Morris, Josh made his first grade debut in round 1 of season 2007 against the newly formed Gold Coast Titans at Suncorp Stadium.
Following his first grade debut, Josh played two seasons for the St George Illawarra Dragons in a variety of backline positions, with his preferred and best position being left centre.
In his 46 first grade appearances in the red-and-white, Josh managed an impressive 20 tries.
Josh made his representative debut for Country in the 2007 City vs Country Origin match. In 2008, he played wing in the Prime Minister's XIII side in its match against Papua New Guinea.
Equipped with plenty of speed, Josh is just what the doctor ordered for the Bulldogs backline in season 2009.
Josh was a player the Bulldogs earmarked and secured early in their recruitment campaign.
Josh was a valuable asset to the Bulldogs in season 2009, scoring an impressive 22 tries from his 21 appearances.
On top of that, Josh represented NSW in game 2 and 3 of the Origin series where he managed a four pointer. He was selected to represent Australia in the Four Nations where he made his debut against France, scoring a double along side his twin brother Brett.
In round 3 of the 2010 NRL season, he scored the first 4-try haul of his first grade career in Bulldogs 60–14 drubbing of the Sydney Roosters.
Josh was selected to play on the right wing against Wales in the 2011 Rugby League Four Nations.
At the 2012 Dally M Awards Josh was named the NRL's centre of the year. He played in the 2012 NRL grand final loss to Melbourne.
On 14th June 2013, Josh played his 100th first grade game for the Bulldogs against Manly scoring a try.
Josh played for Canterbury in the 2014 NRL Grand Final loss to South Sydney at centre.
On 1st August 2015, Josh was named in the team of the decade as part of the clubs 80th Year celebrations.
On 23rd March 2018, Josh played his 200th first grade game for the Bulldogs against Penrith scoring a try.
On 20th May 2018, Josh scored his 100th try for the Bulldogs joining Hazem El Masri and Terry Lamb who have scored 100 tries for the club.
On 10 July 2018, Josh signed a two year deal to join Cronulla starting in 2019.
On 2nd September 2018, Josh played his last game for the Bulldogs against his future club, Cronulla at ANZ Stadium.
Josh finished with 217 first grade games in his 10 years at the club.
Josh also finished with 103 tries third on the all time try scoring list for the Bulldogs behind Hazem El Masri and Terry Lamb.
