The Bulldogs have gone down to the Dragons 30-0 at ANZ Stadium tonight.

Amongst all the Sonny Bill controversy the Bulldogs were expected to come out with plenty of bite, however it was the Dragons who came out firing through future Bulldog Josh Morris.

The Bulldog-bound youngster bagged a first half hat-trick with tries in the 5th, 12th and 26th minute. His brother Brett and centre Matt Cooper were the other scorers for the red-and-whites in the opening 40 minutes as they went into the sheds leading 26-0.

Bulldogs centre Tim Winitana left the field early in the match with a rib injury.

Bulldogs forward Brad Morrin was called upon following the unexpected departure of Sonny Bill Williams, playing his second game of football in a little over 48 hours after appearing in the NSW Cup on Saturday against Balmain. Aaron Groom replaced the injured Corey Hughes at hooker, while Toyota Cup star Ben Barba got his chance in the top grade late in the first half but had little impact.

The Dragons increased their haltime lead when Jamie Soward took an intercept and raced 95 metres to score. The conversion was unsuccessful and with 20 minutes remaining the Dragons led 30-0.

Three successive sets-of-six soon after the Soward try weren't enough for the Bulldogs to get over the line.

The Bulldogs missed tackle count continued to increase and passed the half century late in the match and with just under 10 minutes on the clock, giant Bulldogs prop John Kite was placed on report for an unusual offence after his boot struck the face of Simon Woolford whilst attempting to free himself from the tackle.

The Bulldogs simply couldn't break through the Dragons defence and despite keeping the opposition to just four points in the final forty, it was their first half performance that let them down once again.
