After joining the club for season 2006, Daniel Holdsworth was faced with filling the crucial five eighth position in the side - one previously held by premiership winning representative player, Braith Anasta.
A relatively unknown player at the beginning of the season, the transition prospect was all the more intimidating.
After filling in for the classy pivot Trent Barrett on just six occasions at his previous club St George Illawarra, Daniel was thrown into the Bulldogs starting position from Round 1 against the Panthers at Telstra Stadium.
He impressed his critics early on and soon enough made the number six jersey his own.
By the end of the season he was one of very few players to appear in all 26 matches for the club - scoring eight tries, making eight line-breaks and 211 kicks-in-play.
The WA Rugby League product missed a total of just 80 minutes of football all season after suffering an ankle injury just 16 minutes into the Bulldogs preliminary final against the Broncos. The other time spent on the sidelines came in Round 2 against the Wests Tigers when he was rested in the final moments while a sin-binning in Round 11 against the Sharks kept him benched for a further ten.
Hazem El Masri and Luke Patten were the only team mates to play more football for the blue-and-whites in season 2006.
In 2007, Daniel played just 11 games before coach Steven Folkes named him in the Premier League side for round 15. He went on to play 12 games in the lower grades where he scored five tries and kicked a field goal to guide the Premier League side to the minor premiership.
Daniel played 20 games in 2008.
Daniel made a further 13 appearances in 2009 before moving to Salford in the Super League in 2010.
