The Mitsubishi Electric Bulldogs have gone down 58-18 against Canberra at ANZ Stadium tonight.

The Raiders raced to a 16-0 lead less than a quarter into the match due to some poor Bulldog defence before the Dogs fought back. With just minutes remaining until the break the blue-and-whites found themselves down by just two points, 20-18, following tries to El Masri, Nanai and Ryan.

After fighting there way back into the contest the Bulldogs opened up with the halftime siren begging and the visitors increased their lead to eight going into the break.

The second half started like the first with the Raiders scoring two tries early on to extend their lead to 36-18.

The Bulldogs injury toll worsened with Tim Winitana carried off with concussion and second rower Nick Kouparitsas leaving the field with ankle ligament damage.

The scoreboard kept ticking over for the green machine as rookie winger Justin Carney leaped high to score.

Trailing 42-18 the Bulldogs were simply muzzled and out of bark as they watched the Raiders stroll over for their ninth try of the night.

With the clock ticking away Canberra were not finished as Colin Best scored his fourth and Bronx Goodwin raced away to take the final score to 58-18 as the Bulldogs fans left the building.
