The Bulldogs have narrowly gone down 24-20 to league-leaders the Gold Coast Titans at Skilled Park tonight.
The Dogs trailed 16-0 early on before going into the sheds back in the contest down 16-10.
The second half was a tough battle as the two sides fought it out but it was the Titans who held off a fast finishing Bulldogs pack.
Both sides scored four tries with the Titans forced to withstand a spirited showing from the Bulldogs, who came close to equalising in the 79th minute when Michael Sullivan was denied a four-pointer because of what was ruled to be a forward pass.
The Titans move back to the top of the ladder ahead of Melbourne's encounter with St George Illawarra at the Olympic stadium on Saturday evening.
