Penrith has ended a horror five-match NRL losing streak by upsetting an injury-ravaged Bulldogs 30-20 at Telstra Stadium.
The bottom-placed Panthers ran in five tries to one in the second half to overturn a 10-point deficit and claim a much needed against one of the premiership favourites.
It came with the Bulldogs left decimated by injuries.
The home side finished with just one player on their interchange bench after Willie Mason (wrist), Cameron Phelps (fractured cheek) and Aaron Wheatley (shoulder) were all forced from the field.
International trio Sonny Bill Williams (rib), Mark O'Meley (hamstring) and Willie Tonga (groin) had been ruled out before kick-off due to niggling injuries.
Mason's injury will be of particular concern for the Dogs, the Australia forward set to miss up to four weeks with a fractured wrist.
He suffered the injury late in the first half after scoring the Dogs' second try in the 15th minute.
Winger Phelps, who continued his unlucky injury run by suffering a fractured cheek only a few months after being left heavily concussed against the New Zealand Warriors, had already left the field by that stage.
While Wheatley, who came in as a late replacement, was forced off in the 58th minute which a dislocated shoulder.
The Panthers revival was already in full swing by that stage.
Ben Roberts, Mason, and Daryl Millard all scored tries for the Dogs in the opening half, with winger Geoff Daniela providing the Panthers first try.
After the break it was virtually all one way traffic.
Centre Maurice Blair scored in the 46th minute after a sweeping Panthers movement which went from one side of the field to the other, and then back again.
Tony Puletua then touched down in the 54th to level the scores, before winger Nick Youngquest put the Panthers in the front three minutes later.
Youngquest grabbed his second in as many minutes in the 59th, with Daniela completing his own double with the match-sealer in the 69th.
Dogs forward Nick Kouparitsas gave the home side a hope of courageous win by scoring six minutes from fulltime.
But after a horror two months, which has seen the club plummet to dead last on the ladder and endure a troubling time off the field with their player recruitment and retention, the Panthers were not to be denied.
