Hazem El Masri re-wrote the Bulldogs record books as his side powered to a 38-22 win over Newcastle at Telstra Stadium.
Already the holder of the Bulldogs all-time pointscoring mantle, El Masri became the club's all-time tryscoring leader after bagging his third four-pointer of the night - and 124th career - in the 67th minute to go ahead of former great Terry Lamb.
The sharp-shooting winger then nailed his 600th career goal from the sideline with just 40 seconds left on the clock to complete an historic night.
Hooker Corey Hughes also bagged a double for the Bulldogs as the home side scored four of the final five tries to run away with the game.
The scores had been locked 16-16 at halftime, but tries to El Masri in the 51st and five-eighth Daniel Holdsworth in the 55th gave the Dogs the upper hand.
The win secured the Bulldogs a place in the top four at the midway point of the season, while handing back-to-back losses to the Knights, who again looked tired in the second half.
The Dogs hurt the Knights physically early on with some tough defence - most notably from Mark O'Meley and Sonny Bill Williams - before doing the damage on the scoreboard in the second half.
A try to Newcastle winger Anthony Quinn just seconds before the break ensured nothing separated the teams at halftime.
The home side looked set to take a four-point advantage into the break after hooker Corey Hughes scored two tries in six minutes to turn a 4-12 deficit into a 16-12 Dogs lead.
But good hands from the Knights and a quick turn of speed from centre George Carmont allowed Quinn to duck over in the corner in the 40th minute to level the scores at 16-16.
Williams was particularly destructive down the right side of the field, laying on the opening try for El Masri in the 13th minute with a clever flick pass, before collecting Knights halfback Andrew Johns with a shuddering shoulder charge later in the half.
