Tony Grimaldi played one game for St George in 1995 as a second row forward.
Tony joined Canterbury in 1996 to become a regular member of the reserve grade team before received the opportunity to play first grade against Brisbane as a replacement.
In 1997, Tony was a regular member of the reserve grade team and captained the team for most of the season but did not captain during the finals. He played in the Premiership winning game against Auckland.
In 1998, Tony started the season in reserve grade but was promoted to the interchange bench in first grade. He became a regular member of the first grade team and played in the Grand Final against Brisbane, starting the match in the second row.
In 1999, Tony joined Hull and captained the team to the finals.
In 2002, Tony, rejoined the Bulldogs and after battling injuries at the start of the season, received the opportunity to play first grade when Mark O'Meley was injured. Tony finished the season in first grade.
In 2003, Tony battled injuries but returned to first grade when Glen Hughes was relegated. He finished the season playing in the reserve grade Preliminary Final against Penrith.
In 2004, Tony became a regular member of the first grade team as lock and played in the Premiership winning game against the Roosters.
In 2005, Tony played every game of the season and in 2006 was injured late in the season to break his 61 consecutive games. Unfortunately, the neck injury ended his playing career.
In 2019, Tony was awarded Life Membership of the Football Club.
Tony currently works at the Football Club as the club conditioner.
