Travis Norton played 33 games for South Queensland from 1995 to 1996 as a five eighth.
In 1997, Travis joined Canterbury and started the season in first grade against Hunter Mariners. After being relegated for Duncan McRae, Travis returned to first grade to play lock for the rest of his career. He played in the 1999 Preliminary Semi-Final against Penrith.
In 1998, Travis was a regular member of the first grade team and played every game of the season including the Grand Final against Brisbane.
In 1999, Travis started the season late due to shoulder surgery but returned to first grade until injured before the finals.
In 2000, Travis started the season in first grade but late in the season was relegated to reserve grade for Glen Hughes to start at lock and Adam Peek playing from the bench. Travis played in the reserve grade Premiership winning team against Penrith.
In 2001, Travis started the season in first grade but his season was ruined by a knee injury.
In 2002, Travis returned to first grade to be the regular lock and was selected to play for Queensland. He played five games for Queensland from 2002 to 2004. Travis was injured midway through 2002 and missed the end of the season.
In 2003 he returned to first grade and played in the Preliminary Final against the Roosters.
In 2004, Travis joined North Queensland to play 59 games from 2004 to 2006. He captained North Queensland to the 2005 Grand Final against the Wests Tigers before retiring at the end of the 2006 season.
In 2004, Travis was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
