Tony Davies joined Canterbury in 1980 as a half back.

Tony became a regular member of the Under 23 team and in 1981 became a regular member of the reserve grade team.

Tony received the opportunity to play first grade in 1981 against Newtown as a replacement before playing in the reserve grade Preliminary Semi-Final that year against St George.

In 1982, Tony continued as a regular member of the reserve grade team and in 1983 played in the Semi-Final against St George.

In 1984, Tony joined South Sydney to play four games in first grade.
