Tom Ezart joined Canterbury in 1942 after playing representative football for Country in 1941.
Primarily a five eighth, Tom secured a first grade position and was a member of the 1942 Premiership winning team.
After 1942, Tom joined the Armed Services and returned to the club in 1949 to coach the reserve grade team.
With injuries to regular first grade halves Jim Collins and Bruce Hopkins, Tom played two additional first grade games to assist the club.
