Tim Pickup played for Blackpool Borough in 1970 as a fullback.

Originally a Western Suburbs junior, Tim returned to Australia in 1972 to join North Sydney. He played 54 games for North Sydney between 1972 and 1974.

Tim played for NSW and Australia in his initial season in first grade. He played six games for NSW from 1972 to 1975 and played seven Tests for Australia from 1972 to 1975. Tim was a member of the 1973 Kangaroo Touring team.

Tim joined Canterbury in 1975 and captained the team as a half back. He captained Canterbury on 23 occasions between 1975 and 1978.

Tim's seasons ended prematurely when he suffered a knee injury playing for Australia in the 1975 World Cup.

Tim did not play in 1976 but returned in 1977 where he struggled to retain a position in first grade.

In 1978, Tim became a regular member of the first grade team at five eighth and played in the Preliminary Semi-Final against Parramatta.

In 1979, Tim became a regular member of the reserve grade team, as captain and played his last game by leading the team to the Grand Final against Parramatta.

Tim has served on the Football Club Board and is a Life Member of the Football Club.

In 2006, Tim was chosen in the North Sydney Bears Team of the Century with the like of Greg Florimo, Ken Irvine, Gary Larson, David Fairleigh and many more champions of the game.
