Terry Leabeater played 66 games for Western Suburbs between 1979 and 1985 as a prop forward in two stints.

In 1983, Terry joined Canterbury to be a regular member of the reserve grade team. He received the opportunity to play first grade against Eastern Suburbs.

Terry captained reserve grade and led the team to the 1983 Semi-Final against St George.

In 1984, Terry spent a further season in reserve grade. In 1985, he returned to Western Suburbs before joining Parramatta in 1986 to play 48 games between 1986 and 1987, including the Premiership winning game against Canterbury.
