Stuart Collis joined Canterbury in 1975 as a centre.
The father of Dean Collis, Stuart became a regular member of the Under 23 team playing in the Preliminary Final against Balmain.
Stuart started the 1976 season in Under 23s and secured a position reserve grade before being relegated for the finals.
Stuart played in the Under 23 Semi-Final against Easts (Roosters) but missed the Grand Final through injury.
In 1977, Stuart started the season in Under 23s and finished the season in reserve grade.
In 1978, Stuart moved to the second row and became a regular member of the reserve grade team. He received the opportunity to play first grade against North Sydney when Graeme Hughes was injured.
In 1979, continued in reserve grade but missed the finals due to injury. In 1980, Stuart was again injured mid-season and missed the finals.
