Steve Calder joined Canterbury in 1971 as a lock forward.
Steve progressed through the grades and received the opportunity to play first grade against St George.
In 1972, Steve was a regular member of the reserve grade team but by the end of the season was playing in third grade.
Steve played in the Grand Final against St George before continuing his career playing for Norths in Brisbane.
Steve passed away in October 2015.
