Stan Cutler joined Canterbury in 1970 as a fullback. Stan is the father of Trent Cutler.
In 1971, Stan became a regular member of the third grade team but did not complete the season due to injury.
After a late start to the 1972 season, Stan became a regular member of the reserve grade team and played in the Premiership winning team against St George on the wing.
In 1973, Stan was a regular member of the reserve grade team and received his opportunity in first grade against Manly as a replacement.
Stan played in the Preliminary Semi-Final against Newtown when Gary Dowling was injured and played in the reserve grade Semi-Final against Newtown.
In 1974, Stan became a regular member of the first grade team as centre and played in the Grand Final against Easts (Roosters).
In 1975, Stan became a regular member of the reserve grade team and played in the Preliminary Semi-Final against Cronulla.
In 1976 he continued in reserve grade and despite being released by the club at the end of the season, returned in 1977, to be playing first grade either at fullback or on the wing.
Despite having Gary Dowling and Greg Brentnall in the club, Stan was able to secure a first grade position at fullback in 1978 but missed the Preliminary Semi-Final.
In 1979, Stan secured the first grade fullback position and played in the Grand Final against St George.
In 1980, Stan continued as first grade fullback but was unlucky to the injured in the finals and missed playing in the Premiership winning team.
In 1981, Stan was a regular member of the reserve grade team, as captain but missed the finals through injury.
1982 was another season impacted by injury and Stan retired at the end of the season. He returned in 1990 to coach the reserve grade team.
Stan coached the Under 18 team in 1996 and the Under 19 team in 1997 and 1998.
In 2004 Stan was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions and is a Life Member of the Football Club.
Stan is currently on the Bulldogs Ambassadors Club Committee.
