Scott Barrett joined Canterbury in 1990 as a five eighth.

The brother of Trent Barrett, Scott became a regular member of the Under 21 team and received the opportunity to play first grade against Canberra as a replacement.

Scott captained the Under 21 team late in the season and played in the mid week play-off but was injured and missed the Preliminary Semi Final against Parramatta.
