Roger Sheedy joined Canterbury in 1961 as a goal kicking centre.

In 1962, Roger became a regular member of the reserve grade team playing on the wing. He received the opportunity to play first grade against Newtown when Noel Collie was injured.

Roger played in the 1962 reserve grade Semi-Final against Parramatta.
