Roger Kinlyside joined Canterbury in 1971 as a half back.

Roger was a regular member of the reserve grade team and received the opportunity to play first grade against Penrith as a replacement.

Roger played in the Premiership winning team against St George and in 1972, he became a regular member of the third grade team, playing his last game in the Grand Final against St George.
