Rod Jackson joined Canterbury in 1970 as a winger.
Rod became a regular member of the third grade team and played in the Preliminary Final against South Sydney.
He started the 1971 season in reserve grade and received his opportunity in first grade against Penrith as a replacement.
He played in the reserve grade Premiership winning teams against St George in 1971 and 1972.
In 1973, Rod joined Manly to play 54 first grade games from 1973 to 1977, including the Premiership winning team in 1976.
