Ricky Stuart played 203 games for Canberra from 1988 to 1998 as a half back.

Ricky played in the Premiership winning team against Balmain in 1989, the Premiership winning team against Penrith in 1990 and the Premiership winning team against Canterbury in 1994. He also played in the Grand Final against Penrith in 1991.

Ricky represented NSW in 14 games from 1990 to 1994 and represented Australia in nine Tests from 1990 to 1994. He played in the 1990 and 1994 Kangaroo tours and played in the 1992 World Cup.

In 1999, Ricky joined the Bulldogs to become a regular member of the team. He captained the team in Darren Britt's absence. Ricky captained Canterbury on six occasions from 1999 to 2000.

In 2000, Ricky was a regular member of the NRL team but suffered a career ending knee injury mid season.

In 2001, Ricky coached the Flegg team to win the Premiership.

In 2002, Ricky was appointed NRL coach of the Sydney Roosters.
