Ray Strudwick joined Canterbury in 1969 as a winger.
He made his first grade debut for the club against Newtown in the opening match of the season before becoming a regular member of the team for most of the season.
In 1970, Ray played in the winning Pre-Season Final against St George and played all but one game in the season, including the Semi-Final against St George.
In 1971 and 1972, Ray became a regular member of the reserve grade team, often playing centre. He played in the Premiership winning teams in 1971 and 1972.
In 1973, Ray joined Easts (Roosters) to play nine games from 1973 to 1974. He joined Parramatta in 1975 to play a further six first grade games.
