Peter Bellamy joined Canterbury as a fullback.

Peter became a regular member of the reserve grade team and played in the Semi-final against Balmain.

In 1971 he received the opportunity to play first grade against Manly when Dennis Scahill was relegated.

Peter became a regular member of the first grade team as centre.

In 1972, Peter started the season in third grade and played his last game in the Grand Final team against St George, playing fullback.
