Paul Mellor played 71 games for South Sydney as a winger.

In 1997, Paul joined Canterbury to become a regular member of the reserve grade team before receiving his opportunity to play first grade against the Western Reds as a replacement. He played in the reserve grade Premiership winning team against Auckland as a centre.

In 1998, Paul started the season in reserve grade and played first grade when Hazem El Masri was relegated. He was later relegated for Gavin Lester and did not finish the season due to injury.

Paul joined Cronulla in 1999 to play 89 games between 1999 and 2002 before joining Castleford in 2003. He returned to Cronulla in 2005 to play 15 games and in 2006, Paul joined South Sydney and has played 17 games.
