Norm Thomas joined Canterbury in 1966 as a prop forward.
He was a regular member of the third grade team in 1966, 1967 and 1968.
In the later stages of 1968, Norm received the opportunity to play first grade against Easts (Roosters) when Ron Raper was injured, playing in the second row.
In 1969, he became a regular member of the reserve grade team but played most of the later stages of the season in first grade.
In 1970, Norm was a regular member of the reserve grade team but was used on many occasions as a first grade replacement. He played in the reserve grade Semi Final against Balmain.
In 1971 and 1972, Norm was a regular member of the reserve grade team once again and played in both Premiership winning teams against St George.
In 1973 and 1974, Norm was consistently played between first grade and reserve grade. He played in the reserve grade Preliminary Final against Easts (Roosters) in 1974.
In 1975, Norm secured a first grade position as prop before breaking his arm mid-season. In 1976, he made a late start to the season, only playing in reserve grade.
In 1977, Norm joined Cronulla to play three first grade games. He returned to Canterbury to play another nine matches in first grade.
Norm is a Life Member of the Football Club and in 2004, he was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
