Nick Meaney, a talented fullback from the Newcastle Knights, arrived at Belmore and agreed to terms with the Bulldogs for the next three seasons. The 20 year-old, who was a Ballina junior, represented the NSW U20's Origin in 2017, as well as being selected in the NSW Residents squad in the same season in the fullback position. 

He was also the Knights Player-of-the-Year in the NYC and NSW Cup over the past two seasons. A star in the lower grades, Nick made his NRL debut in round 18 of the 2018 season against the Parramatta Eels and finished the year with five appearances. 

He also crossed the try-line twice, came up with 16 tackle breaks, 2 try assists and is a handy goal-kicker as well. Safe under the high ball with great leg speed, Nick will provide variety to the Bulldogs attack.

In 2019 Nick played 22 games in his opening season for the club, scoring six tries, 61 tackle breaks and averaging 114.1 running metres per game. Nick spent the opening part of the season in the fullback position before he shifted to the wing for the second half of the year.

Nick made 16 appearances for Canterbury in the 2020 NRL season and finished as the side's top point scorer. The club finished in 15th place on the table, only avoiding the Wooden Spoon by for and against.

Midway through the 2021 NRL season, Nick signed a contract to join Melbourne starting in the 2022 season.

In the final round of the 2021 NRL season, Nick scored two tries for Canterbury in a 38-0 victory over the Wests Tigers, in a season where the Bulldogs finished 16th.
