Nick Evans joined Canterbury in 1954 as a lock forward.
Progressing through the grades quickly, Nick received the opportunity to play first grade when Jack White was injured near the end of the season.
Nick was to become a regular first grade player for the next five seasons. After missing 1960 and 1961, he returned in 1962 to initially captain the reserve grade and eventually returning to first grade for his final season.
In 2004, Nick was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
