Mick Ryan joined Canterbury in 1975 as a centre.

The son of Peter Ryan Snr and brother of Peter Ryan Jnr, Mick was a regular member of the first grade team, either playing centre or wing.

He made his first grade debut in the opening match against St George and played in the Preliminary Semi-Final against Parramatta.

Mick spent most of the 1976 season injured but returned to be a replacement in the finals, playing in the Preliminary Final against Manly as a replacement.

In 1977, Mick returned to be a regular centre in first grade. After starting the 1978 season in first grade, Mick was relegated for Chris Anderson and did not return to first grade.

In 1979, Mick joined Newtown to play 85 games including the 1981 Grand Final against Parramatta. In 1983 he joined Easts (Roosters) to play 12 games before retiring.

In 2004, Mick was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
