Mick Keevers joined Canterbury in 1951 as a prop forward.
A regular member of the third grade teams in 1951, Mick played in the third grade semi-final against South Sydney.
In 1952 he maintained his third grade spot and progressed to reserve grade for the 1953 season.
Mick received his first grade opportunity when Ken Charlton was injured.
Mick continued in reserve grade in 1954 before starting the 1955 season as prop for the first six games. After being injured, Mick could not regain his first grade spot which had been secured by Barry Nelson.
Mick played in the third grade for the 1956 season to complete his playing career.
