Mick Pitman played 60 games for Newtown from 1980 to 1982 as a second row forward. He played in the 1981 Grand Final against Parramatta.
The son of Tom Pitman, Mick joined Canterbury in 1983 to become a regular member of the first grade team when Mark Hughes was injured. He played in the Preliminary Final against Parramatta.
Mick then returned to Lakes United to become captain-coach. He captained-coached the Black and Whites Griffith in 1986 to the grand final.
