Merv Lette joined Canterbury in 1951 as a prop forward.
A regular in reserve grade in his initial season, Merv played first grade when Ron Treuer was injured late in the year.
Merv was a regular member of the reserve grade team in 1952 and played in the reserve grade Grand Final against South Sydney in the second row.
