Matthew Fuller joined Canterbury in 1989 as a five eighth.
Progressing through the grades, Matthew received the opportunity to play first grade against Easts (Roosters) as a replacement.
In 1990, Matthew became a regular member of the reserve grade team and in 1991, Matthew started the season in the Under 21 team and became a regular member of the team, playing lock.
Matthew played in the Premiership winning team against Parramatta.
In 1992, Matthew joined St George to play three first grade games that season.
In 1993, Matthew joined South Sydney to play 12 games that season. In 1995, Matthew joined Western Reds as hooker and played 59 games from 1995 to 1997.
In 1998, Matthew played for Wakefield Trinity before joining Western Suburbs in 1999 to play 21 games that season.
