Luke Goodwin played 10 games for Penrith in 1992 as a half back.

In 1993, Luke joined Canterbury to start the season as the first grade fullback against Balmain. He was relegated mid-season for Scott Wilson and played in the reserve grade Preliminary Final against Newcastle.

In 1994, Luke started the season in reserve grade but became a regular centre in the Under 21 team and broke Doug Kelly's 1971 record for the most tries in a third grade season. Luke scored 18 tries, three better than Kelly's 15 tries.

In 1995, Luke joined Parramatta and did not play first grade. In 1996, Luke joined the Western Reds to play three games that season.

In 1997, Luke joined Oldham and returned to Australia in 1999 to join Western Suburbs and played five games in first grade.
