Leo Driver joined Canterbury in 1972 as a prop forward.

After not securing a position in under 23s, Leo returned to the juniors before returning in 1979 to become a regular prop in reserve grade.

Leo received his opportunity in first grade against Parramatta as a replacement. He then played second row in the reserve grade Grand Final against Parramatta.
