Kevin Goldspink joined Canterbury in 1963 as a lock forward.
The brother of Colin Goldspink, Kevin started his initial season in reserve grade and received the opportunity to play first grade against Western Suburbs when Kevin Neal was injured.
Goldspink was able to secure a regular first grade position midway through the season when Heinz Blume was injured. He was to become a regular first grade player for the next seven seasons.
In 1964, Kevin moved to the second row and lost his first grade position to Ralph Harding, however he returned to first grade later in the season when Don Hobson was relegated.
In 1965, Kevin's season was interrupted mid-season by injury and in 1966 he missed the last month of the season due to injury.
In 1967, he played every game of the season including the Grand Final against South Sydney. Kevin was selected in the 1967 Kangaroos however he did not play in a test. He played for Sydney II in 1966 and 1967 before representing Country in 1972 against Sydney.
He continued his consistent form in 1968 but his 1969 season was again cut short due to injury.
In 1970, Kevin joined Easts (Roosters) and played 26 first grade games between 1970 and 1971. He later was a captain-coach in the Illawarra competition before retiring.
