Kevin Cox joined Canterbury in 1959 as a second row forward.

He started the season in first grade but was relegated for Pat Fitzgerald mid-season and became a regular in reserve grade. Kevin played in the Semi-Final against St George but missed the Preliminary Final due to injury.

In 1960, Kevin secured a regular position in first grade and played in the Semi Final against Easts (Roosters). After missing the start of the 1961 season, Kevin made his return in the lower grades playing prop.

In 1962, he joined Balmain to play two further first grade games. After playing third grade for Balmain for most of 1963, Kevin retired from the game.
