John Conna played four games for Western Suburbs from 1959 to 1960 as a second row forward.
In 1962, John joined Canterbury and started the season in first grade, playing in the winning Pre-Season final against Western Suburbs.
In 1963 he became a regular in reserve grade playing prop and appeared in the Preliminary Final against South Sydney.
After missing the 1964 season, he returned in 1965 to play in reserve grade.
