Jim Champion joined Canterbury in 1938 and made an instant impact securing a position in the centres.
Jim played in the Premiership winning team of 1938 aswell as the winning City Cup team of 1939.
The City Cup final was Jim's last game for the club where he scored two tries.
After two successful seasons, Jim returned to Lithgow remaining in the game for many years as a player and in development of the game.
Jim passed away in June 2003 at the age of 90.
