Jeff Simmonds joined Canterbury in 1946 as a winger of high quality.

He played in the 1946 final against Balmain and in the 1947 Grand Final.

After missing the 1948 season, Jeff returned to the club for two more stints in 1949 and 1951.

In 2004, Jeff was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
