Jason Alchin joined Canterbury in 1985 as a half back.

Jason progressed through the grades quickly and received the opportunity to play first grade against Balmain as a replacement.

Jason was a regular member of the reserve grade team and played in the 1985 Semi-Final against Canberra.

In 1986, Jason continued as a regular member of the reserve grade team and started the 1987 season in first grade when Steve Mortimer was unavailable.

In 1988, Jason started the season in first grade and by mid-season moved to fullback. He played in the Premiership winning team against Balmain.

In 1989, Jason started the season at half back but after being moved to fullback mid-season was injured and missed the end of the season.

In 1990, Jason played fullback until injured mid-season.

In 1991, Jason joined St George to play only three games before his season was ruined by a knee injury.

In 1992, Jason joined Western Suburbs to play 36 games between 1992 and 1995 mainly as a hooker.

In 2004, Jason was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
