Jack Reilly joined Canterbury in 1938, playing through the grades as a prop.

Jack played in the Premiership winning reserve grade team of 1939. He started the 1940 season in first grade but lost his place to international prop Jim Gibbs who had joined the club from Newcastle.

Jack was fortunate to be the replacement for the suspended Henry Porter for the 1940 final against Easts (Roosters) which was also his last game for the club.
