Jack Morrison became the first player to captain Canterbury when he led the team out to play North Sydney at North Sydney Oval in round 1 of 1935.
Jack was also the first player to captain NSW in both Rugby Union and Rugby League.
Jack was recruited by South Sydney from the Randwick Rugby club in 1931.
Primarily a centre, Jack also played five eighth for South Sydney.
In 1931, Jack played in the Premiership winning South Sydney team but was unfortunate to miss the Grand Final in 1932 due to injury. He played a total of 35 games for South Sydney.
Jack represented NSW against England in 1932.
After missing 1934 due to appendicitis, Jack joined Canterbury in the inaugural season and captained the first grade team in the opening match.
Jack's first season was interrupted with injury. Season 1936 proved to be a better season with Jack being a key member of the team that made the semi-finals.
Unfortunately, he was unavailable for the last three games of the season due to injury.
Jack captained the first grade team on six occasions.
