Jack Gearin joined Canterbury in 1952 as a centre.

He commenced the 1952 season in first grade but was not able to retain his position throughout the season. Jack played mainly on the wing in first grade.

In 1953, Jack joined Newtown to play in the lower grades. He returned to Canterbury in 1954 for a short spell.

Jack passed away in November 2016.
