Henry Tatana played eight Tests for New Zealand and played in the 1968 World Cup as a goal kicking prop forward.
In 1972, Henry joined Canterbury and started the season in first grade against St George but was relegated when Ron Raper returned from injury.
Henry became a regular member of the reserve grade team but was often used as a first grade replacement.
He was relegated to third grade to play in the Grand Final against St George.
In 1973, Henry started the season in first grade and became a regular member of the team, playing in the Preliminary Semi-Final against Newtown.
In 1974, Henry played most of the season in first grade but was relegated for Geoff Connell and played in the Preliminary Final against Easts (Roosters).
Henry's last game for Canterbury was as a replacement in the 1974 first grade Grand Final against Easts (Roosters).
In 1975, Henry joined St George to play 43 games from 1975 to 1976 including the 1975 Grand Final.
In 1976, Henry joined Cessnock to become captain-coach.
Henry passed away in June 1998, aged 53.
In 2004, Henry was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
