Henry Raymond joined Canterbury in 1987 as a centre.
Henry progressed through the grades quickly and received the opportunity to play first grade against St George when Peter Mortimer was injured playing on the wing.
Henry played in the reserve grade Preliminary Semi-Final against Easts (Roosters).
In 1988, Henry started the season in first grade but was injured allowing Robin Thorne to play first grade.
Henry spent the rest of the season in reserve grade.
In 1989, Henry started the season in reserve grade and returned to first grade when Brett Ross was relegated.
